Need-based Scholarships are granted to students from economically weaker section who are unable to pursue their dreams owing to financial hardships. Universities offer scholarships to promising students, mainly from developing countries, such that they continue their studies without adding any extra burden on their family finances. To avail need-based scholarships, students must submit financial documents like bank statement as a proof of financial condition of their family.

Merit-based Scholarships are offered to students with stellar academic credentials and outstanding extracurricular achievements. To avail merit-based scholarships, students need to submit their transcripts, certificates of accomplishments, and letters showcasing their excellent track record over a period of time.

Research-based Scholarships are for scholars interested in pursuing a research-based project while pursuing their undergraduate studies. Students must demonstrate a keen interest in conducting research and must maintain high academic standards at the accepting university in order to avail research-based scholarships or grants.

Melbourne Welcome Grant Scholarship by University of Melbourne

Melbourne Welcome Grant

Enrolled international coursework and research students who have travelled to Australia will be able to receive the Melbourne Welcome Grant towards the cost of travel, quarantine and adjustment to study and life in Melbourne.

· be an international student enrolled in coursework or research course (excluding non-award programs, such as exchange or study abroad programs) with the University of Melbourne

· not have departed Australia on or after the start of Semester 2

· This grant provides a one-off payment of $4,000

· Payments can only be made to an Australian bank account held in your name

Global Excellence Scholarship by University of Western Australia (UWA)Global Excellence scholarships is for high-achieving students from across the globe who wants to pursue their undergraduate/postgraduate study from UWA

· Be an international student

· have received an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA

· Exceptions – Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental

· have achieved an equivalent:

o ATAR of 88.00 – 98.00+; or

o WAM of 70.00 – 85.00+

· undergraduate students can receive scholarships of up to AUD$48,000 over 4 years on eligible courses or AUD$36,000 over 3 years

· postgraduate students can receive up to AUD$24,000 over two years on eligible courses

Applications begin with new commencements
UNSW scholarships by University of New South Wales (UNSW)

Through UNSW’s international scholarships and awards, ambitious students from India can find the support and guidance to succeed at UNSW.

· The Award is applicable to new students commencing in an eligible term where the Award is offered

· Students who have completed an undergraduate program at UNSW and are commencing a postgraduate program will be considered a new student for the purposes of the Award

· Receive 15% toward tuition fees for every year of your program

· The Award is available for students from eligible countries who are starting their studies in Term 2 and Term 3

· The Award can be combined with other UNSW scholarships

UTS Vice-Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship by University of Technology Sydney (UTS)

This Scholarship was established to support high achieving commencing international students enrolling in an undergraduate program at UTS in Sydney. The scholarship is to be offered to international students who demonstrate commitment to excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social justice.

· be an international student

· meet all admission requirements for the selected course by the closing date of the scholarship application; and commence full-time studies on campus

· have an overall average of 85% where the pass mark is 50% or equivalent in a UTS recognized high school qualification

· Up to two recipients will be awarded the scholarships annually

· UTS will pay each Recipient the UTS tuition fees for the approved bachelor’s degree course for the duration of the Scholarship

Applications Open From March to April
University Excellence Scholarships by University of Wollongong (UOW)The scholarships reward and encourage students who have demonstrated excellence in areas of academia, leadership, community, and sport.

· Be an International Student

· Remain enrolled at the University of Wollongong for the Duration of the Scholarship as per the Enrolment Requirement

· Maintain the required Weighted Average Mark (WAM)

· Scholarship consists of a tuition fee waiver, which will be applied directly to tuition fees for the duration of enrolment at UOW.Autumn Session: February Spring Session: July
Dean’s Merit Scholarship by University of Tasmania

The Dean’s Merit Scholarships are awarded to high achieving international students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.

The scholarships cover a range of courses from across the University.

Available to high achieving offshore and onshore International students who have an offer of a place in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Sciences & Engineering, and Business & Economics course

Students must have received at a minimum:

· An overall ISAT score of 180 or higher; and

· An ATAR (or equivalent) of 95 or higher

· Pass or ungraded pass result in all units at the end of each academic year (to maintain the scholarship)

The Dean of Medicine’s Merit Scholarship covers 25% of registered tuition fees.

The Dean of Sciences and Engineering Merit Scholarship covers 50% of registered tuition fees.

The Dean of Business and Economics Merit Scholarship covers 50% of registered tuition fees.

Monash University International Merit Scholarship

Top 31 candidates, applying to Monash University for an Undergraduate degree are offered the Monash University International Merit Scholarship based on their outstanding academics and brilliant extracurricular/leadership activities

· Be an international student

· Current students must have achieved a minimum weighted average mark of 85

· Students will also be assessed on their scholarship application statement (500 words), and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University.

To retain this scholarship:

· You must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester.

· You will be required to participate in at least three Marketing and/or Scholarship promotional activities

· $10,000 per annum paid per year until the minimum number of points for your degree is completed.

· Commencing undergraduate students will be invited to apply for a place in Monash Minds, a leadership program for first-year students.

Adelaide Summer Research Scholarships by The University of AdelaideThe Adelaide Summer Research Scholarships have been created to encourage undergraduate students to consider undertaking postgraduate study at the University of Adelaide leading to a career involving research

· Students who have completed at least two years (48 units) of their program, at a standard acceptable level for admission to an Honors program, will be considered in the first instance.

· Students must contact their Faculty/School to ensure that an appropriate research project is available.

· Each Scholarship provides a living allowance of at least $200 per week for six weeks.

· Up to 60 Summer Research Scholarships are available to continuing undergraduate students who wish to undertake a six-week research project in summer vacation.

Sydney International Student Award  by The University of Sydney

Recognizes the academic achievements of applicants from India

Science International Scholarship by The University of QueenslandRecognizes the academic achievements and/or financial hardships of students seeking admission at UQ

· Be an international student

· Receive admission into a full-time undergraduate coursework in one of these domains – Agriculture and animal sciences, Engineering, Environment, Health and Medicine, Science and Mathematics

· AUD $8,000 (one payment)

· Valid for 1 year

· Need to submit a Personal Statement
