1) Who is eligible to attend Collegiate Quiz Championship - Junior?
Ans. Students in grade IX and X are eligible to participate in the Collegiate Quiz Championship – Junior. We also conduct a quiz for grades XI and XII, the Collegiate Quiz Championship. You may click here to obtain additional information.
2) Why should I participate in Collegiate Quiz Championship - Junior?
Ans. The Collegiate Quiz Championship –Junior, provides a global platform to bright and ambitious students to showcase their knowledge. Participants display their Mathematics and General Awareness skills on Live TV. The event will be viewed by the Admission Departments of prestigious US universities as well as by friends, family and peers. Additionally, you win fabulous prizes.
3) How can I participate?
Ans. Please visit www.scholarly.co and go to ‘Live Quizzes’ tab. You can view the schedule and the instructions and register by filling in the application form. Upon submitting your application, Scholarly representatives will reach out to you for next steps.
4) What documents are required with the application?
Ans. Aspiring participants will need to upload two documents: (a) birth certificate, passport, Aadhar card (any one is acceptable) and (b) marksheet for grade VIII or IX (highest level completed)
5) Is there an application fee for participating in the quiz?
Ans. There is no application fee for participating in the quiz. You just need to register yourself as indicated above.
6) How is the quiz conducted?
Ans. Collegiate Quiz Championship – Junior is conducted online and is divided into three rounds.
Round 1 – Qualifiers: Scholarly representatives will reach out to candidates and conduct an online Quiz. This session will not be broadcast. Based on the performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the round 2.
Round 2 – Prelims: Top 25 participants from round 1 will be divided into five (5) groups of four (5) candidates each. There will be five Prelims, one for each group. One winner form each Prelim will advance to the Grand Finale. The events will be streamed live and recordings will be available on Scholarly’s channel.
Round 3 – Grand Finale: Five (5) winners from each Prelim will attend the Grand Finale resulting in selection of a winner and a runner-up. The Grand Finale will be streamed live and recordings will be available on Scholarly’s channel.
Admissions departments from several US Universities are expected to watch the Prelims and the Grand Finale. You can also invite your friends and family to watch the event live or the recordings later.
7) Do participants receive a copy of quiz recordings?
Ans. The recordings (Prelims and Grand Finale) will be available on Scholarly’s channel.
8) What equipment do I need to participate in the Collegiate Quiz Championship - Junior?
Ans. You need a good internet connection with a computer and webcam. Participants are required to attend the quiz without external help from a quiet location to minimize disturbance. You are required to switch on your webcam while participating in the quiz.
9) When is the Collegiate Quiz Championship conducted?

10) What will happen if my internet connection drops?
Ans. We encourage you to have more than one internet connection (Example: home wi-fi and mobile hotspot) available when you participate in the events to reduce chances of disruption. Depending on the timing and length of the disconnection, you may be disqualified or may miss the opportunity to answer certain questions.
11) What kind of questions will be asked in the quiz?
Ans. Collegiate Quiz Championship – Junior tests your proficiency in Grade IX and X Mathematics and General Awareness. General Awareness is a multidisciplinary section which will include questions from Science, History, Geography, Current Affairs, Economics, Sports etc. Additional information and some sample questions are provided on the website.
12) Is there a dress code for the events?
Ans. We would encourage all participants to dress business casual. Please keep in mind that the event will be watched by a global audience including Admissions Departments from prestigious US Universities.
13) When am I required to join for a scheduled event?
Ans. Scholarly will require all participants in Prelims or the Grand Finale to join 30 minutes before the event. The exact details will be provided by email when you qualify for Prelims or the Grand Finale. Tardiness may lead to disqualification.
14) Will I get a participation certificate?
Ans. Students that successfully qualify for the Prelims will get a certificate of participation. Students that win in the Prelims or beyond will receive an honors certificate. All certificates will be distributed after successful completion of Collegiate Quiz Championship – Junior.
15) I have qualified for the Prelims. How can my friends and family watch my event live?
Ans. They need to visit www.scholarly.co and go to ‘Live Quizzes’ tab. Within the page, they need to scroll down to see the upcoming events. Anyone can watch the live event by clicking on the link provided at the time of the event. They can also watch the recordings at the later date. You can also subscribe to our Facebook page to watch the event live on the scheduled date.
16) I have qualified for the Prelims., How will the date of my event be decided?
Ans. At the time of registration, we request participants review the schedule for the Prelims and the Grand Finale to make certain that you do not have a scheduling conflict. If you qualify for the Prelims, Scholarly will inform you of the date and time of your event through email. Scholarly’s decision shall be final and binding.
17) I have qualified for the Prelims; however, I am not available on the date for which my event has been scheduled?
Ans. In a limited number of extenuating circumstances, Scholarly may reschedule you for a different date. Please inform us immediately if such a situation arises. In case a change is not possible, Scholarly may assign the slot to someone else, and you will be dropped from the competition. Scholarly’s decision shall be final and binding.
18) I have qualified for the Grand Finale, but I am not available on the scheduled date?
Ans. For the Grand Finale, no postponement or adjustment is possible. If you are unable to attend, Scholarly may assign the slot to someone else, and you will be dropped from the competition. In case a Prelim’s winner does not participate in the Grand Finale, they will forfeit their Prelims prize. Scholarly’s decision shall be final and binding.
19) When and how will I get my award money?
Ans. Three Finalists, Grand Finale Winner and Grand Finale Runner-up will receive cash prizes from Scholarly through bank transfer or demand draft. All awards will be distributed after successful completion of Collegiate Quiz Championship – Junior.

6) I appeared for grade X exam and awaiting result. Can I participate?

Ans. Yes. Students that have appeared for the grade X exam, but don’t have the final mark-sheet, can submit their school mark sheet.

Ans. Scholarly’s Collegiate Quiz Championship is conducted online and is divided into three rounds.
